Where?

From here and there and back again,

Not knowing why or stopping when

People once I knew — I chance to meet

Or pass them fleetingly on the street.

For time, the wise — I see her run

And with the dusk of the setting sun

Those I knew have quickly changed

Become detached and now estranged.

Did I wander and grow apart?

Or was it like that from the start?

Never true friends, just a deceiving charade.

False from the instance connections were made.

Still around me people who appear to be true

But in reality — I walk alone, I always do.

Back to where? Not there but here again!

Why? I don’t know and stopping only at the end.
